You Know You Need a Break When...

You unconsciously start humming songs from your baby's toys in public.

Case in point - I was at Target yesterday shopping in the baby aisle when a woman approached me laughing. I thought she was some crazy mom finally losing it from the sleepless nights, but apparently I was the insane, crazy mom. The mom that approached me said she heard me humming to a tune that her daughter's vibrating chair makes - the pink one with the butterflies and pull down flower? Yes, it's the same one Ava has and can be found happily bouncing in time to time. Apparently, I've been singing and humming the songs from Ava's toys unconsciously in public and another mom recognized it. Embarrassing, funny, and sad on so many levels...!

You definitely know you need a break when you don't recognize any songs on the radio, but can identify and sing along to the tunes from all your baby's toys. AWESOME.

I vow to spend a good portion of my afternoon today visiting the Billboard Top 100 website and downloading the first 10 hits to ensure that I'm not losing my previous musical self to the land-o-everything baby. Oh and make sure to slap me if you hear me saying "what kind of rubbish are kids listening to these days" or "that's not music, you can't even understand what that guy is saying. Celine Dion or Barbra Streisand, now that's music!".

Now off to start my day filled with lots of pop culture, news, and NON baby stuff. :)
