Vent

Establishing a date for a trip and buying tickets for said trip should be a simple process, right? One would think so, except it is apparently much more difficult for some than others.

We are in the process of planning a trip back home to Hawaii to visit family in June and the dates of the trip are completely up to Kent and his work schedule. It has now taken him around 2 weeks to 1)) remember to ask his boss if he can take off 2) actually ask his boss and 3) remember the dates we are planning for vacation. HELLO...wtf?! How difficult is it to ask someone for vacation time off or remember what month we are planning to go??? The ticket prices are going up each day he puts it off, along with my blood pressure and sanity.

Kent's second job - besides asking for time off - is to actually purchase the airline tickets. You can simply go online to do this and peck in your credit card number in a matter of seconds. Again, easy right? NOOOO!

After the website asked for an email address to enter for a promotional discount, Kent gave up and asked me to do everything. I mean, come on, it's not that hard. In addition to this, he casually logged into my PERSONAL EMAIL ACCOUNT to get a password, and didn't understand WHY I was so upset that he did this. Seriously, I was on the verge of backhanding him at this point.

First, I didn't know he knew the password to log into my email account. Second, I never thought he would do that without my permission. I absolutely do not have anything to hide and have my email as my last piece of privacy - to which I would never object to him checking if he had ASKED. For me, locking the bathroom door at home elicits raised eyebrows and questioning. Not sharing my password and personal email for occasional review and peeking, forget about it. When I tried to explain why I was upset at him looking into my email account, the response I received almost made me blow a blood vessel - "grow up" and "why, what do you have to hide?". WTF??!!!!!

I am now in the office, trying to keep my composure since I cannot even begin to understand how men think sometime. For the men out there reading this, a word of advice - allow your wife/girlfriend SOME SMALL piece of privacy in her life, no matter how trivial it may seem.

And Kent, if you're reading this, FYI...I changed all the passwords to my email account and computer...muahahahaha. Serves you right. Enjoy trying to guess them...I know you'll try.
