In lieu of my recent rants, I'd like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support - I really appreciate it. For those of you that are still worried, fear not, we've turned the fussy corner and seem to be somewhat back on track.
My mom and sister came to visit this past weekend and helped alleviate the challenge of Ava's incessant need for attention right now. It must have worked, because she is DEAD TIRED and has been napping and sleeping like an angel. The constant simulation - and believe you me, there was CONSTANT stimulation - seemed to appease Ava and she is back to the sweet ol' baby we all know and love. Kent and I also got a much needed mental and physical break including golfing, shopping, a swim/bbq at the river with friends, an almost movie (we drove to the theater, and then decided not to go since we were so tired...yes, I know, we're old!), and even a nice relaxing workout at the gym. We were also pampered with delicious home cooked Korean food (thanks mom!) and I learned to make several more yummy Korean dishes. I haven't felt this refreshed and energized in a long time and didn't realize how much of a break we needed until now. I had a great time with my mom and sister and miss them so much already.
My mom brought over a Korean baby carrier that Ava LOVED and did really well in. In fact, she's sleeping in it right now as I am typing. The word must have got out that we were frazzled, as my grandmother in Korea sent over a Korean baby carrier as well! It was also extremely helpful of my fellow mom friends from mom's group to step up and provide emotional support. I spent every day last week doing an activity with the moms and babies - we had fun watching movies at the theater and going on playdates.
It's been a rough couple weeks, but the craziness has passed (cross my fingers...) and we're back to normal. This was a testiment to the amazing strength of our friends and family and I'm so grateful for all the wonderful people in our lives. We are so blessed.
