Milestones
Okay, two big milestones to report.
1. My wedding and engagement rings finally fit! Forget the fact that I have to soap up my finger and push it down over my knuckles with all my might, IT FITS!
2. Ava laughed for the first time yesterday. A big belly laugh with snorts and all...so cute! We were doing exercises where I lift her in the air and count and this time she laughed with each lift. One (snort), two (giggle), three (hiccup?), four (big belly laugh), five (loud, big belly laugh with snorts), six...mommy's getting tired but you're just so darn cute (even louder belly laugh with a high pitch squeal)., seven...who am I kidding, I'm wiped out, we're done!
And to show Kent this momentous milestone, I tried to do the lifts with Ava again when he came home, with no success of a laugh. Then, we went for an afternoon walk where I would momentarily push Ava in her stroller in quick spurts and say 'weeeee', which somehow elicited this elusive belly laugh. I kept doing it and she kept laughing.
Enter Kent. He heard it from the wayside and wanted to try it himself. I prayed to God that Ava wasn't just doing it for me and making me look like a liar to her poor Daddy, so on Kent pushed and voila, Ava gave a hearty belly laugh. Yay!
So for all of you out there waiting for that precious moment when your baby will laugh like a drunk middle-aged man that kicked back one too many...don't fret, the time will come. Try lifts in the air while counting or do a sprint with the stroller followed by a high pitched 'weeeeeee!'. If nothing happens, at least you had a good work out and went for a nice walk outside, right ;).
