Merry Christmas, Happy New Year...Happy Valentine's Day?
Hello loyal readers. It's been waaaay too long since my last post. With a crazy and fun filled Holiday season behind us and Ava's first birthday creeping around the corner, I figure a two month sabbatical from the blog was a much needed gift to myself. The blog (for the moment) had to a backseat to all my usual obligations (along with all the Holiday ones!), so we could just relax and enjoy the moment. But two months is a long time, so I do apologize for our absence since I know there are many of you dying to see pictures of our precious little Ava. SO MUCH has happened since my last posts, I don't even know where to begin!
Besides her usual playdates, Ava has now been going to the gym's day care when Kent and I workout. It was hard at first since she cried non-stop, but she adjusted and happily plays with the other kids now. She also started weekly swimming lessons with Daddy on Saturday mornings (it's their date day together so mom can get some time alone) and LOVES it! She is an Angelfish (that's what level she's in) and can now withstand getting her head dunked underwater (thanks, Kent...), doing assisted backfloats and doggypaddle. She has also gotten sick for the first time last week (short lived and not too bad, just a runny nose) and got violently bitten in the arm by a 2 year old at a playdate. And true to her kimchee temper, she fought back on both accounts - the cold and the bite - and came out on top. The poor boy who bite her had a run for his money since her free hand went into defense mode and repeatedly struck him over the head until I got to her. That's my girl ;).
She can 'sign' back to us more and milk (she did this in late October); wave to people (January), she says mom, uh oh, yum, hi, and no (started in October); walks/squats/sits/runs! (late November around Thanksgiving); sleeps completely through the night (December); prefers what we eat to her baby food (that was short lived...we had to give all the baby food away after a week!) and has A TON of hair where we can now put all sorts of fun barrettes and clips on her! That's the major stuff I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's more. I'll save details for another post.
Kent and I feel as though she is growing before our eyes, learning and discovering so much every single day. It's fabulously overwhemling to witness and breaks my heart into pieces (in a good way) when I see it happen. She is officially a little person, a little GIRL, with her own personality. It's pretty awesome and SO MUCH FUN!
So before I get too far gone with the updates and write novel, here are some photos of our precious angelfish/scrapper/darling AvaMo. Enjoy!
