Went to the bookstore today and picked up several baby books (and another DQ limeade). I’m so excited to start reading! I was so tired this afternoon that I layed on the couch to take a nap at 3pm and didn’t wake up until 4am…wtf! Kent was so sweet and didn’t even try to wake me. The poor baby grilled burgers by himself and took a nap beside me in the living room until I woke up. What a sweetheart!

Peyton Gets A Friend!
We spoke with Shellie over the phone for a couple hours tonight, which was so nice. She told us about baby Peyton and her pregnancy/birth experience. She really reassured my fears and made me feel excited for all the fun things to come. Before we told her about our news, Kent asked her how she would feel if Peyton had a cousin to her age (would be so nice!)…and then we told her. She was soo excited and solidified our excitement that our babies will grow together and be the best of friends. :)

If I said I was emotional, it would totally be an understatement. With the changes in my hormones, I’ve been really weepy and sensitive lately. Which, for those of you that know me, is SO unlike me.
For some crazy reason, I felt compelled to tell my boss, Kathleen, that I’m preggers...! Mind you, it's not a really strange thing to do, but being so early on in the pregnancy (8/9 weeks), it's still technically a little too soon to be announcing it. And this is according to all the pregnancy websites that coach women to keep the pregnancy on the down-low until you clear the first trimester (which is when the percentage of miscarriage goes down considerably). Luckily, I have an AWESOME boss that I feel completely comfortable with and she was nothing more than ecstatic and really supportive and happy for me. With all the new and uncontrollable emotions I've been feeling, I couldn’t focus a bit on my work since I’m still so excited from yesterday’s great news...!
I also went to Lori Asada’s for a girl’s night, which ended up in just me, Lori and Wendy - and unofficially, officially told Wendy the exciting news! It's so strange to tell people that we're having a baby since it still feels so surreal. I'm mean, other people are always the ones having babies, right? Later that night, Michelle came by to drop off Kaihokulele and being around him with a different state of mind has given me such a renewed sense of motherhood and babies. I feel like I'm seeing everything in a completely new and different way :).

Kent responsibly arranged to pick up our new couch with a Uhaul rental truck today. He enlisted the help of Yosh and they will move the couch upstairs after I cook us a nice homemade dinner. Since Lori and Yosh are both coming, I’m made beef stew…yum! While the stew was boiling and Kent was lying on the couch watching golf, I thought I would take the last of the 2 pack pregnancy test, just for s&g's. I peed on the stick and didn’t think anything of it since the other tests were abhorrently negative. I went to check it again and what do I see to my utter surprise? A ‘positive’ result!!! I totally wasn’t expecting it, so I thought I was seriously hallucinating. I must have looked at the stick for at least a good 5 minutes before running to Kent to show him our surprise! I don’t think he even knew I took the test and he kind of quietly flipped out too. We both cried a tear of joy and went straight to the camera to take pictures of our little mini-me to be. Needless to say, we were OVERJOYED and I couldn’t contain it when Lori and Yosh came. We eventually told them that night after dinner and drank (at least Kent did) a toast to our little mini-me. We called Kent’s mom (didn’t answer), Dad (didn’t answer), Lori (didn’t answer), and Brad Shinagawa (flipped out!). We also texted the news to our friends and family and got supportive responses throughout the night. It was one of the best days of our life!

Kent and I went to Wicke’s furniture sale and found the couch we’ve been eyeing out for a couple weeks, still available! We wheeled and dealed and finally got to an agreeable price with the salesman. Ladies and gentlemen, we now have a new loft couch set…yippee!! This will be especially nice to lie in since summer is/should be right around the corner. I’ve been feeling especially thirsty, craving DQ limeades like nobody’s business. I think I’ve gone there everyday for the past 4 days! I better invest in some juice since this is becoming a very expensive habit…:)

We went to a Father’s Day BBQ at Kama and Michelle’s place and I told Michelle that I think I might be pregnant. I asked her about symptoms and so far, my “off” feeling has been so general that I can’t tell for sure. The test I took yesterday came out negative (again!), but Kent has been telling me to be patient and wait a little while longer. This is the 4th test I’ve taken since early June because I’m convinced that I’m preggo!

The burned pooch is very painful! Ironically, it’s right in the center of my lower belly and shaped like a horizontal oval, with a slight “arrow” pointing to my piko…?! Talk about signs…this is definitely like discovering Elvis’ face on your morning toast. Since my gut feeling of being preggo hasn’t subsided, I’m going to buy another pregnancy test this Saturday and see if it comes out positive. I think I jumped the gun last week when I took a test, because it came out negative. It’s still too early, but I definitely can’t shake this feeling…

I’ve been feeling “off” for the past couple of days and suspecting that I’m pregnant. I’ve been extremely tired – exhausted really – cranky, and have been sensing a slight *tingle* in my lower belly…! The tingling started yesterday and developed into slight abdominal cramps, which I NEVER have in between menstrual periods. To make matters worse, I come home today and started cooking dinner (baked spaghetti) only to do something really stupid and hurt myself (thankfully) not too bad. I was carrying the pot of spaghetti noodles to the sink to drain when a *tingle* came from nowhere. Combine my extreme tiredness, the sudden cramp, and a pot of boiling water and voila…you get a second degree burn! The cramp jolted and surprised me so much that I spilled the boiling spaghetti water on my lower abdomen…aka my poochie. I burned it pretty bad where it is starting to blister. It’s probably one of the worst pains I’ve felt in a long time since EVERYTHING seems to bring some sort of pain (my shirt, a breeze, the temperature…). Since I’ve been so out of character, I’m about 85% sure that there is a mini-me a-brewing in me pooch.
