Christmas Come Early

I love my camera. It was one of the best investments I have ever made in a material good and I'm certain that it has already paid itself off in value for the photos we were able to capture when Ava was born. And though the camera itself is pretty nifty, the quality of the photos hasn't been that fabulous due to my lack of experience using an SLR. But with practice for eighteen months now, I feel a lot more comfortable and understand a little more of the technical side of photography (thanks to a lot of reading, googling, and asking around).

And after a year and a half of toying around and practicing, I've finally upgraded to a new lens (THANK YOU KENT!) to really capture the kind of photos I wanted of our family. I was dying to try it out the minute we got home, so here are a few fun photos I shot of Ava and Kent at our neighborhood park.  And please excuse our dear daughter's grubby little face - she had fun romping in the dirt, eating messy snacks, and playing with chalk that afternoon.  I'm not the greatest photographer, but with time, I'll hopefully get better. Enjoy!
