Matt Roloff Up Close and Personal...Kind Of.

In the pursuit of doing all things Northwest and Oregon , we decided to take our out-of-town friends, Koren and Holly, pumpkin picking near our house at Roloff Farms. Since the debut of the Roloff family’s reality TV show ‘Little People, Big World’, the farm has become THE most popular place to pumpkin pick in Oregon . Despite the fact that there would be hoards of people and a slim chance of actually seeing the “celebrity” family, we went anyways. It appears that two of us (me and Koren) are quite obsessed with the show and both secretly excited to see the farm in real life with the hope of maybe running into one of the family members. The main agenda for that day, naturally, was to locate and photograph the star of the show – Dad, Matt Roloff. This proved to be a real challenge since he apparently does not hang out around the farm to meet and greet the fans of the show (unlike his lovely wife, Amy). Nobly, he was actually hard at work making sure the farm was running smoothly.

With this in mind, Koren and I were a little disappointed that we weren't going to see Matt and were joking around that we would most likely catch a glimpse of him when no one was around (for evidence sake) or that our camera's would be off (again, for proof). As we were discussing this very thought in the car while we were waiting for a parking stall to open up, who do we see whiz by us at the speed of light on a golf cart...? MATT ROLOFF! It was unmistakably him, as he was wearing his trademark red sweater (if you watch the show, you know exactly which one I'm talking about...), but he was speeding by us so fast that it completely caught us off guard. Koren and I were slow to react and took too long to even get our camera out of our bags! Our one chance to "see" him and we completely missed it. We even screamed and yelled for him to turn around, but he apparently had more important things to address... :).

Besides having fun picking out pumpkins, we also spent our time quietly scanning the area for Matt. Needless to say, we didn't get a close up shot of him and were totally bummed since seeing Matt and getting a picture with him was one of the main purposes of going to the farm. But alas, all was not lost and we did get a piece of Matt after all...

On the ride home, I heard an uncontrollable laugh from Koren in the back seat, only to turn around and find her red-faced and teary eyed. Since she was too busy laughing and could hardly speak, she simply handed me her camera and this is what I saw:

Somehow, Koren - with her lighting fast Paparazzi fingers - caught a "picture" of Matt Roloff when he drove past us in his golf cart and this is what proof we have from that day! At least we have evidence, albeit blurry, that our quest to see Matt Roloff was successful after all.
